In what may very well have been the most boring Orioles game of the season, the Blue Jays beat the O's 2-0 last night. I had the unfortunate luck of being in attendance at the game and the post-game fireworks were much more entertaining than the game itself.
Maryland native Brett Cecil made the O's look foolish, scattering 4 hits over 6 innings. Jason Berken did his best to keep up with Cecil, turning in his best outing since his lone victory in his MLB debut over the Jays in May. He gave up 2 runs in 5 2/3 innings, but it wasn't enough to get the win.
The BWP Clipped Wing Award winner for the game is... Cesar Izturis!
Izturis went 0/2 in his first game back from the DL but the big thing that earned him the CWA was his ground out with the bases loaded to end the 2nd inning. It killed all of the momentum the O's had built and they never really had another chance to score during the game.
Tonight the O's send Rich Hill to the mound in the second game of the series against the Blue Jays. Woo!
